I gotta say, one of my favorite things so far this year is the fact that I'm co-teaching some physics classes with my buddy and teaching idol Dan Harper. Dan's known nationally for being a virtuoso teacher, and I've had the honor and pleasure of working him before, but never like this. Every other day, he and I get to teach physics at the beginning and end of each school day, and it's already a trip. Our teaching styles are really different, but our mutual respect and enthusiasm for teaching (and for physics!) is really making this a fun venture. Apparently it's already "a thing" at LASA, because I've had a former student contact me on Facebook asking about it. He said his younger sibling who is taking one of our classes described our dual functions in class quite well, saying that we switch roles and one of us is always "the hype man. Like FLAVA FLAV". I couldn't be more flattered. Ha!

I'm trying to expand the boundaries of the STEMpire by sharing my educational experiences and inviting meaningful dialogue about STEM education, Science, and life in general. And sometimes "inviting meaningful dialogue" means simply speaking your truth into the world and hoping that maybe somebody will listen and respond.
